MERLIN IN DISGUISE

The murder of an investigative reporter leads to suspicions of an underworld act of revenge. Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) Anti-Terror agent Chris Vachon stumbles upon evidence of a connection between the reporter's death and a known terrorist appearing in the area. Local police treat the death as an underworld murder after discovering the reporter wrote articles exposing local outlaw motorcycle gang activity.
Vachon befriends the victim’s circle of friends developing a relationship with murdered reporter's friend and co-worker Jenna Orr.
Determined to discover the identity of her friend’s killer Orr inadvertently becomes the next target when the terror group discovers attack plans might be in Orr's possession.
She cultivates a friendship with local biker leader Tex McCue during a newspaper assignment resulting in unexpected protection. The support becomes crucial when the terrorists attempt to kill her during an assignment to cover a nuclear waste shipment protest.
Another assignment covering a far north industrial development temporarily takes Orr away from her home area. The new assignment results in her suspecting an Israeli manufacturing project is actually a clandestine weapon manufacturing facility. Project publicity manager and Israeli Mossad agent Sam Benjamin needs to convince the reporter the project is an employment generating manufacturing industry. He arranges for Orr's media employer to assign her to research and publish a series of articles for international distribution.
While travelling to Timmins with Benjamin to research the project an unexpected snowstorm becomes extraordinarily intense while driving to the distant city. Their vehicle slides off the road stranding the pair for several days. Sam’s training and Jenna’s northern upbringing allow the stranded travelers to cope with the winter conditions for more than a day of storm related highway closure before forcing them to walk several kilometers in heavy snow to the nearest and only nearby civilization.
Orr and Benjamin become romantically involved while stranded in the snowstorm where she realizes Benjamin is a Mossad agent offering protection against the now recognized terrorist threat to her life. Benjamin wanting the relationship to become more than friendship decides to introduce Orr to his family in Toronto. While in the city the pair narrowly avoid another attempt to kill Orr by terrorist leader Merlin.
Vachon identifies Benjamin as a Mossad agent and suspects he is also tracking the terrorists. Using Orr’s newspaper skills and friendship with the CSIS agent Benjamin learns Merlin is masterminding an attack on an American presidential convention in Detroit.
Dealing with nuclear proliferation, clandestine assassinations, and a planned diversionary attack on an American aerospace facility, the plot reaches a climax when CSIS, American CIA and Mossad agents attempt to independently discover Merlin’s attack plan. Meanwhile the terrorist leader succeeds in luring Jenna to a clandestine meeting in Detroit before the attack is to take place.
Using inventive disguises to bypass security Merlin’s attack is about to succeed when a mishap from the terrorist’s past reveals the plan allowing Benjamin to coordinate pursuing agencies to rescue Orr while derailing the planned attack.
